Harper Joining Asia-Pacific Partnership = Terrible Idea

I think this is just another excuse for Steven Harper to show that his government is doing something about climate change. The Kyoto Protocol is no old, stagnant and forgotten by the citizens of Canada. As well, it was a Liberal government who signed it in the first place. Being the Steven Harper he is, he needs to show that the Conservatives are taking action.

The Harper government has fallen short of all greenhouse gas emissions deadlines. Who really thinks that this time will be any different?

I am sick and tired of people saying global warming is the end all of our world and life as we know it. We had freezing cold (Weather) not climate its minus 30 out, its not because the earth is warming!!! I never expected global warming to be so cold. Seems like whatever happens, we can blame good old global warming.
Got to blame someone or something when you lack common sense don't you? Isn't it strange that animals don't bitch about the weather or anything else? They deal with it. People would rather complain about being uncomfortable rather than preparing for whatever life may bring. When has blaming or bitching ever stopped hunger or kept anyone warm? When there is no electricity or gas for heat a lot of people are going to have to learn to cut wood and build a damn fire...aren't they! They will never blame themselves for not rolling up their sleeves and doing what we were born to do.....SURVIVE.

We have become so dependent on others to tell us why things happen and who or where to place BLAME, we have lost sight of the real task in life...again.... SURVIVE. When things got tough for my cousin, (after being paralyzed in an accident, and blaming no one), she would say " Wish in one hand and sheet in the other, see which gets full first." "There's no room for blame here, just room to improve what I got left."

If your average coldest winter temperature over the last 50 years is -25, and then there is a trend where that average coldest temperature is -22, that is still damned cold, but *does* represent a warming trend. You need to look at the big picture. They have only looked at the past 500-year in ice samples, however the earth is over 6 billion years old! You tell me does this represent a fair portion of time??? The Earth has always gone through warming and cooling periods. People say that it isn’t a natural process, and that humans are speeding up the process of climate change. We area part of the natural world, and we are shaping it naturally. Everything on the planet was a some point natural.

I guess what I am trying to say is that all of these commitments by our government are just a waste of time and money. We should start putting the funding into education, example Common Sense 101, or staying cool 101.
The Asia-Pacific Partnership lacks the mandatory targets to actually see if progress is being made. This is ironic because Steven Harper was quoted in saying, "It's critical that ... all major emitters have binding targets, and one of the reasons it's important for Canada to participate in the Asia-Pacific Partnership is these are the major emitters on the planet,” And I guess who is to say it is progress, we may be slowing the natural cycle.
The countries involved in the Asia-Pacific Partnership would like to see a “flexible framework” in which to approach climate change. Flexible kind of sounds to me like I will do it if I can but I guess it is no big deal if I don’t!

I had my own idea for changing and preventing global warming. A complete ban on atmospheric Dihydrogen Monoxide. It is noted as the largest greenhouse gas in the atmosphere. You in, well, this deadly greenhouse gas is also known as water vapour! That’s right, water vapour is the most common greenhouse gas. Chew on that one for a while!

Here is a link for the Asia- Pacific Partnership's website, you can make you own informed decision:
